Project Communicate SLT set sail in 2017, with Kimeshree Moodley at the helm as its Speech-Language Therapist & Practice Owner. According to Kimeshree, Project Communicate SLT was established in response to the waves of comments made by community members indicating their need for accessible private SLT services within their own community.
Kimeshree; fondly known as Kim by her family, friends, clients & colleagues; began her voyage in the profession in 2013 after graduating from the University of KwaZulu-Natal with a 4 year (Honours) degree in a Bachelor of Communication Pathology: Speech-Language Therapy.
Having worked over a decade in the profession, Kim has had the opportunity & privilege to work & gain experience in many different working environments & amongst many professionals. She has worked in both the government & private sector. Thus far, Kim has worked within the Healthcare system at a District-Level Hospital; within the Education system where she has spent the majority of her professional career passionately working in Special Needs; & within private practice, first as a locum tenens & then within her own private practice. She also has the privilege of tutoring Therapists (Speech-Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists & Physiotherapists) through Continous Professional Development (CPD) Courses run through an amazing NPO called Malamulele Onward. Kim believes she owes much of her professional & personal growth to her clients & her colleagues, who she regards as friends. She believes that every individual; be it a client, family member of the client or colleague that she has had the good fortune of working with; has taught her invaluable lessons that she carries with her daily, both in her professional & personal life.
Kim has attended many courses to continuously develop herself professionally so that she may offer her clients services that are current, evidence-based & anchored in best practices. She has her Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Therapy (NDT) Certification and is PROMPT, DIR Floortime & Makaton trained.
Outside of her profession, Kim enjoys being in nature, hiking & mountain biking. She is a fitness enthusiast who is currently completing her National Certificate in Fitness through Health & Fitness Professionals Academy. Kim revels in all things related to movement such as weight training, combative training, jogging, spinning, swimming, HIIT & yoga. Apart from fitness, she loves trying out new plant-based recipes & spending time with her tabby, Garfield.
The captain of our ship, Kim, looks forward to welcoming you aboard Project Communicate SLT & serving you or your loved one in your/their best interest.
